KCG Holdings offer
I was just wondering what you guys think of KCG holdings? Would it be a good place to start a career as a Junior Quant Trader in their London office? Does anyone have any knowledge of the company/culture/comp etc or could share an opinion?
Thanks!
Top shop for quant/computer/algorithmic trading. May be a great way to leverage yourself into some top London hedge funds in the future. Just my 2 cents.
they come off as a very smart group, well respected, and definitely a recognizable name for anyone who actually matters.
Many thanks for your thoughts. It's good to have some outside opinion as I've been dealing with headhunters only and you never know how much you can trust them. I've taken the offer btw.
Congrats, that is a really good position to be in starting out. In regards to leveraging yourself into a hedge fund... I don't really see why you would want to do that. CAssuncao As long as the firm you're at gives you sufficient access to technology and enough freedom to grow at your own pace, why would you want to move someplace else to do the same thing? I understand bankers and such looking to transfer into new roles, but for trading, why would you want to move unless you were getting a shitty deal?
Thank you!
I definitely get your point but it's always good to know that you have some exit ops if things were to change.
Hey man do you mind expanding on what your educational background is?
Sorry for the very very late response but I've just seen your question now.
I did physics as an undergrad and then a PhD in maths at a top UK University. I also did a summer in M&A but no one cared when I applied to quant trading jobs.
Could you please give your thoughts about what it's like to work there ? I have heard that many people left after the merger and that it wasn't that great anymore. I have been contacted regarding an opportunity in London and I don't really know what to think about it so any feedback would be appreciated (PM if you want)
Tbh dont think KCG is the place to be in Europe. Don't think of them anywhere near top 10.

I have a S&T SA offer, and I was wondering if anyone knew about KCG's reputation on the street and how their bonuses/salaries stack up against bulge brackets.

Thoughts on KCG and S+T Summer Analyst Position? (Originally Posted: 02/03/2016)
Currently have an offer for a sales and trading summer internship with KCG Holdings at their Jersey City office. What are your thoughts on the firm and its future? Is this a good place to start a career in trading, and what do you think my exit ops would look like if I decide to return? I am a student at a target school.
Thanks!
Just curious -- did you end up interning there? If so, how was your experience like?
Thoughts and insights on KCG S&T SA (Originally Posted: 04/17/2014)
I recently received an online python test from KCG after applying to an S&T SA internship. Does anyone know what kinds of interview questions they ask? Will they ask a lot of probability questions? I'm studying computer science so not as strong with the math part.
Thanks for any feedback.
KCG has S&T SA positions now?
I guess so, there was a job post for a S&T SA position at my school. Is it weird that they have S&T SA positions?

This is the first year of the SA program. I'd be interested in hearing about the reputation of the firm in general if anyone has any insight. Not a lot of information on post-merger KCG on this site.
Same here. How is KCG doing since the merger?

Was hoping to hear some general opinions about the future of this firm. May have the opportunity to intern here this summer, but I do not know much about it. Would like to know reputation, comp, pros and cons of interning here vs larger firm, etc. Thanks for any help you guys can offer.
