Kellogg MSMS vs Duke MMS
Hi, So recently I've been accepted to both of these programs and now i've to make the tough choice of choosing which one to attend. I'm trying to get into Mgmt Consulting. If it doesn't work out I see myself working at a Asset Management Firm on their buy side.
I'm an international student, so keeping that in mind which school should I attend. Looking forward to your opinion and guidance kind strangers!
one of the easiest decision when you don't have money reasons to excuse yourself.
Please provide further background info, such as work experience, previous studies..
Kellogg
Kellogg's MSMS "Career Paths" page lacks any prestigious recruiter. This is alarming, considering more than 60+% are Northwestern undergraduates (and thus, should deserve BB/MBB-level employers).
I'd go with Kellogg. It's known to be a MBB powerhouse and the program has a smaller class size with less internationals . Duke is a good program, but it's a massive class size and there are a ton of international students.
Massive class size at Duke? We're talking 100-120 students... The program has around 30 to 40% international students. You clearly don't know what you're talking about.
Most MSF programs are 30-40 students. 120 is massive. And 40% international is a lot, especially when it comes to Visas.
If you look at the placement report you can clearly see this.
Dukes a fine program, but 100-120 is a massive class size for a program that has no specific recruiting.
having dumb rocks like @TNA" won't be helpful at all. Why don't you talk to the Kellogg program alumni yourself so that TNA stop to post misleading shit. Kellogg people are nice if not anything else. Thanks
Shoot me a message if you'd like. Ive talked to a number of northwestern MiM grads and adcoms over the years.
Watch out for bad advice on this site. WSO is great overal, but some wierdos have an axe to grind and pass off bad advice for gospel.
great introduction for yourself. OP can't get any good info from YOU a loser or Admissions who arent applying to the jobs that students want to have. Time for you to enter a casket.
@TNA, I'd love to hear the major key points to be pointed out according to your opinion, based on the feedback you collected from those Kellogg MSMS graduates.
It would benefit us all; the program being quite recent and reliable information out there about its career opportunities, quite scarce.
lol whatterock is here again
Need help choosing a school -- Master's of Management -- Fuqua vs. Kellogg (Originally Posted: 05/12/2016)
Hi everyone,
I graduated from college in 2015 (Comm. major at a top university w/ a fair amount of econ classes), and after a gap year spent living abroad (thought I wanted to go to law school), I decided to apply to master's of management programs. I am interested in going into management consulting and am beginning to prepare for interviews now. I was awarded a scholarship at both Kellogg and Fuqua for a significant amount (same at both schools).
Post-MM, I want to go into consulting in the NYC area. Can anyone speak to the strength of either / both of these programs in this area? Provide a pros and cons list? Have spoken to career services folks at both of these schools as well as alums, but would love to get the feedback of the WSO community.
Thanks so much!
Northwestern. Easy decision.
Can you elaborate more on why you feel that way? Do you know about their consulting placements?
