KKR Real Estate Private Equity

Hi,

Does anyone have some insight about KKR Real Estate private equity or has anyone worked there or working there now? I have an interest in applying for a junior position and want to know more about it. Do they have both equity and debt funds or just one of them? How is the interview? Is it very technical? Please relay some insight about it. Many thanks!

Also have some questions about this group. Do they recruit the same way as "vanilla" PE groups do- as in they don't hire you until you have prior experience working in IB or REPE? Is their hiring style ad hoc, or do they follow a specific timeline and have a new "class" every year? Do you have to know someone or can you just apply via a recruiter?

KKR as a whole is obviously a top firm, but I have yet to see anything about their real estate group on the REPE 50 and the like. Maybe this is just because they're new? Thanks in advance.

The real estate group is very new compared to their competitors (like created within the last 5 years or something). I'm a real estate guy and think they have made some all guns blazing shooting from the hip type of investments -- example spec 1 MM SF office building in downtown Houston (eeeeeekkkkkk). They obviously have very top notch guys though and I'm sure will figure it out. IMO with respect to mega fund REPE a lot of their competitors seem to be making smarter plays.

Whatever though. If you get in there take it, no questions asked. It will be great on your resume.
