Knopman vs. Solomon - Series 79

Hey Guys,

I bought Knopman outside of work and have been using it and read through the whole book, all practice questions, and done 5/6 practice exams. However, my MD said he has access to Solomon. My buddy took knopman and said he passed no problem. I have been doing some practice exams for Solomon and they are way harder it appears. Does anyone who has taken the test have any advice?

also, when doing my Knopman exams, there aren't that many actual math problems. Is that how it actually is on the test? I am getting in the 70-80% range on the first runs through my practice tests in Knopman.

Any suggestions would be so helpful. I am stressing out now thinking I have to do the Solomon stuff as well.

Any feedback from actual test takers would be awesome in what you did to prepare and what you recommend. Thank you very much.

You are fine. I had two or three math-based questions on the real Series 79, but they were a breeze (basic math).

Here is what I did, and I scored in the high 70s on the real test:

-Read and understand the entire book. Take good notes. I think I had 30 pages or so. -Take the practice exams after reviewing your notes. You should be scoring at least in the low 70s. -Go over the questions you missed, incorporating anything you missed into your notes. -Review your notes and take each practice test a second time. You should be scoring at least in the high 70s.

The real test was a lot more simple. I took a lot less time than is allotted. Make sure to ask for two markers when they give you your scratch pad just in case one breaks (this is also a good tip should you ever take the GMAT).

Good luck!
