Lasalle Investment Management - Analyst Program

Does anyone have any information on Lasalle Investment Management's analyst program in aquisitions. I understand it is a 3 year program after which they encourage you to go get your MBA. Here are some of the things I am wondering about.

-How long has this program been around, and do they hire new analyst every year ?
- How well do analyst that complete the program place for B-School ?
- What is the work life balance like, I read it was less intense than analyst roles at a traditional I-Bank ?
- What is the base salary ? What is the bonus range ?

Thanks for any information you have. It looks like a great program but I haven't been able to get much information on it

I wouldn't call it an "analyst program" as there's really no traditional structure to it (no formal training / yearly analyst class). The firm has only recently started to organize a formal program in response to a large analyst on-boarding that occurred about a year ago.

LIM only makes strategic hires and does not take-on new analysts every year. LIM's analysts all have either extensive internship or full-time work experience in real estate prior to joining the firm, and they have all demonstrated a long-term passion and commitment to the RE industry. Most analysts stay for the entire 3 years, but in rare occasions some leave in less than a year to pursue other opportunities; LIM places exceptionally well at Kellogg and Booth. Analysts who lateral to other firms usually end up at other top REPE firms, BBs and RE focused hedge funds.

Work-life balance reflects the firm's midwestern culture and most analysts (the majority work on the asset-management side) are in by 9 and out by 7. The acquisitions team is a small, highly selective group. Hours can be demanding, but the exposure to senior management and the level of deal involvement is phenomenal.

Compensation is highly variable and based on experience, but someone fresh out of undergrad with no professional experience is probably looking at $70K all-in.

Hopefully this answers your questions.

Originally, I was under the impression that LIM only took in recent grads into their analyst rotation. But after my phone interview with them about a year ago, it seemed like they were targeting experienced (1-3 yrs) candidates more aggressively. I had a couple of years of exp myself at the time.

NPV's response is accurate.
