How exactly do I ask my former MD's/bosses for help landing a summer internship this summer?

I interned at a boutique bank last summer and it's time to reach out to former bosses. I have the advantage of them having just asked me for a favor recently, though, and as such, would like to know how to best phrase that I'm looking for help searching for a summer internship next summer. I don't think it's as simple as saying "Do you know any VPs or MDs at any big banks that can put in a good word for me" and I'm kind of confused on how to go about this. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Well my issue is how exactly to phrase that I need help, and that I'm open to interviewing anywhere they may have contacts. This may come off as rude, and I don't particularly have a selected set of banks that I'm interviewing with - I'm open to any opportunity I can find. How do I come out and respectfully say "Do you know anyone in a position to help me out next summer at any bank?" Lol

Just be mysterious.

When a plumber from Hoboken tells you he has a good feeling about a reverse iron condor spread on the Japanese Yen, you really have no choice. If you don’t do it to him, somebody else surely will. -Eddie B.

1) Call a party company and compare the rates of bounce houses & cotton candy machines, order the most expensive. 2) Prepare from scratch penne alla vodka, vanilla ice cream, and spicy tuna sushi. 3) Create a powerpoint of all your baby pictures and be certain slide #7 is a picture of a ferocious kitty cat. 4) Once every thing is done invite all your previous managers over for a wonderful winter party, pretend you are Gatsby. Once slide #7 appears stage a robbery, make sure the muggers are wearing masks like old ladies (think the Town). You come flying in out of no where with a shotgun and silly string absolutely mowing down the said "robbers". Once your hired men are dead hand your previous bosses a hand written letter asking for the employment you want. You will look like a hero.

But seriously just literally call, catch up, and ask them for exactly what you want.

OP, It should be as simple as what you said in your post. Just let them know what you are interested in and ask them if they have contacts that they would be willing to introduce you to. If you did quality work they should have no problems putting you in touch with anyone they know. No need to over think it.

All I'm kind of trying to do is figure out how to ask my bosses to help me get a summer internship next summer - at a formal internship program.

Email everyone individually, listing your personal email address.

For everyone in the office, obviously go and talk to them separately and discreetly.

And of course, get their contact info !

Calm down.
