For the assessment centre (in London) there were 2 parts:
Group case study: each interviewee had some info on a company - financials etc - and you had to come up with 2 of the 6 as suitable targets for your client. I think there was 45mins in total to read and discuss - so make sure you get to a conclusion (the observers said that a lot of groups ran out of time)
Individual presentation: You had some info about the deal process for a specific transaction and you had to update the client on how things were going. This was pretty straightforward.
I got the offer but didn't take it
You turned down Lazard EU...?
Decided M&A wasn't for me - call me soft but I think the working environment is just too frustrating. Gone for buyside research instead. For me it's the good stuff about M&A - valuation and understanding company performance - without the BS of due diligence, politics and brutal culture.
Hi there, thanks for the info, I have a first round this week , it says numerical test+interview+case study..do you mind telling me what was the first round case study about?? thank you!
