lbs,lse,oxford,gmat

Hi all,

I am a fresh grad. And I am thinking of lbs MiM, lse Fin and oxford MFE.
GMAT720, GPA3.7/4.0 (Finance major 3.9/4.0)
In terms of "technical requirements", does it look competitive or not...? Or I have to strive to reach a 740/750+ to impress the admission officer?

Any comments or/and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you. I am a Chinese, based in HK. The thing I am afraid of is Chinese are extremely good at exams, and therefore I cannot stand out from that pool of candidates...

Getting a GMAT of 740 is not going to make you stand out among the pool of Chinese candidates either. What will make you stand out are the other parts that are relevant for your application (internships, EC's, undergrad school, motivation letter). Trust me, redoing the GMAT would be a waste of your time unless you think you can score something like 780 (which would make you stand out).

For the MiM Programme at LBS, the undergraduate school and experience are way more important than whether you have a 720 or 800. For Chinese people to get in, ad coms love lengthy stays abroad and people with "crazy" or interesting facts about them. Its not a stats game. But still if you have nothing but the stats, that still might be enough. Both oxford and the specific LSE program you targeted are crazy competetive. If GMAT is the only component you can change before the application, it definitely helps, but stuff like internships and extra curricular matter way more in your situation (having pulled in a 720 already).
