Liberty Mutual Corporate Strategy & Research Consultant Internship
I have a first-round with an F100 in-house strategy consulting group. I honestly have no knowledge of consulting, let alone this particular group. From what I understand, it's a small program (25 total people) and they only take one intern each year. The team "focuses on the strategic and operational business priorities of the Chairman and CEO of the company. The department advises the senior executive team in setting the strategic direction at the corporate and business unit levels." And it's essentially a pipeline for senior management positions (their former CEO and CFO came from the in-house consulting program).
Would this be like other consulting interviews (i.e. a case study and some behavioral questions)? I've already taken a pre-screening test with analytical problems.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Sounds like you're going to get a case study.
I did this internship feel free to PM me if you want bro
Hi-
I have the behavior interview and written assessment pre-screen for the cs&r consultant interview at Liberty Mutual. Do have any advice or remember what the written exam/questions were like? Thank You!
I would appreciate some help on this as well..I have an interview in some days..and was wondering what to expect
For full time recruiting, it was:
After resume and cover letter are submitted, you take an aptitude test.
Notified if you get first round. First round was on campus and just one behavioral
Final round in Boston: 2 case interviews I think. Don't know what the content is because I ended up not interviewing.
But definitely a very well respected group. Should set you up well for FT consulting recruiting if you do get it.
Thanks a lot, it is for the consulting intern role. I was in consulting before, but in change consulting, not strategy, so seems like I will have to gear up for the interview. I recently screwed up an interview for Simon-Kucher, and not being from an Ivy League, puts the weight on my shoulder to prove to be extraordinary...Hope it goes well!
But thanks again! Ash
i've just been offered this internship. I was wondering if anyone could offer any perspectives on it?
I have a final round invite for Liberty Mutual - Corp Strategy. Can any one guide me about the process / what to expect and any tips to excel / keep in mind? Thanks !!
Can you share the Case Interviews you had? Thank you. Just curious about what they do for case.

Will anyone comment on the post mba comp/hours for this role? Internal strategy consulting in Boston.
Fuqua is the only school I've seen which breaks out salary. In 2013 it looks like the range was $88k - $140k base, $115k median, with no signing bonus or other guarenteed bonus data.
Your help is greatly apprecaited. Thanks!
Wow. 88k for a strat role post MBA at a firm of that size? Thats awful. Hours will be reasonable 60ish.
Those were my thoughts exactly. My only guess is the $88k was an international student and it may have been a corporate developement role vs. corporate strategy dept. The $140k is a good number though.
I work at Liberty, although in Corp. Finance. I happen to know that this pays roughly around the $115k area depending on experience. I'm thinking the $88k you saw was a strange outlier.

This...for both base salary + bonus structures...
Hours are considerably better than any external firm.

Does anybody have any perspective on the AC position in this group? It's basically LMG's talent pipeline and internal consulting group. Very small group (20-25 people), highly selective, management with MBB backgrounds. What are the pros and cons of entering into a group like this vs. MBB or Booz/Monitor/Parthenon? Exit ops? Bschool placement? Career advancement? Etc.
Thoughts appreciated.
.
I just received an offer in this group and would appreciate any advice/guidance on the position, if anyone has anything to say.
Thanks!
what's the compensation package?
