Liberty Mutual Corporate Strategy & Research Consultant Internship

I have a first-round with an F100 in-house strategy consulting group. I honestly have no knowledge of consulting, let alone this particular group. From what I understand, it's a small program (25 total people) and they only take one intern each year. The team "focuses on the strategic and operational business priorities of the Chairman and CEO of the company. The department advises the senior executive team in setting the strategic direction at the corporate and business unit levels." And it's essentially a pipeline for senior management positions (their former CEO and CFO came from the in-house consulting program).

Would this be like other consulting interviews (i.e. a case study and some behavioral questions)? I've already taken a pre-screening test with analytical problems.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi-

I have the behavior interview and written assessment pre-screen for the cs&r consultant interview at Liberty Mutual. Do have any advice or remember what the written exam/questions were like? Thank You!

For full time recruiting, it was:

  1. After resume and cover letter are submitted, you take an aptitude test.

  2. Notified if you get first round. First round was on campus and just one behavioral

  3. Final round in Boston: 2 case interviews I think. Don't know what the content is because I ended up not interviewing.

But definitely a very well respected group. Should set you up well for FT consulting recruiting if you do get it.

Thanks a lot, it is for the consulting intern role. I was in consulting before, but in change consulting, not strategy, so seems like I will have to gear up for the interview. I recently screwed up an interview for Simon-Kucher, and not being from an Ivy League, puts the weight on my shoulder to prove to be extraordinary...Hope it goes well!

But thanks again! Ash

I work at Liberty, although in Corp. Finance. I happen to know that this pays roughly around the $115k area depending on experience. I'm thinking the $88k you saw was a strange outlier.
