The payer vs provider vs pharma part is big since the types of projects you can work on will reflect the types of projects you would possibly be doing. For example, a company that does a lot of payer work might be doing a lot of work around optimizing health plans. A company that does a lot of provider work might be doing a lot of work around hospital operations, growth strategy, or outcomes improvement. A company that does a lot of pharma work might be doing a lot of pricing, portfolio management, and marketing work. Then within pharma, some companies might focus more on the R&D side while others might focus on the commercial (e.g. marketing, sales, etc) side. Then things like M&A, organizational improvement, etc. could be an area of focus for all firms regardless of their focus.

You might want to start by doing research on Vault or talking to people.
