London Bankers - Living costs breakdown

Calling the London bankers: Would you guys give me an approximate breakdown of your living costs in the city? That means how much of your salary you actually spend for rent, other living costs, eating, clothing, going out, saving?

Thanks for your help.

Rent: 15% (outside of London, excluding bills) Cost of ownership car (all): 8% Food: 4% Train/dlr/tube: 2% petrol/gas: 1,5% wardrobe (all): 5% gym/nutrition/sports: 1-2% flights, trips, weekends: 5% (outside of holidays) phone/gadgets/electronics: 2-3% rest: savings & investment, gf, family, friends

based on post-tax income, excluding bonus, share options, further gratifications and only for 1 source of income because OP's question is based on that.

Food (at least quality brands and good standard) is very expensive in the UK, especially if you like lean meat/protein.

I wouldn't touch the watered down, genetically modified stuff which comes in all forms.

@OP: it really depends on your salary, your standard of living and also how much you are willing to "give up" (ie are you in London for 1 year or in the long run etc). what I have listed is really all I spend, the bare minimum. I don't go shopping or buy stuff I don't need, don't even own a TV (I am never at home anyway).

There are lots of things were you can save but also many aspects were you will inevitably waste money (ie my annual parking fees alone exceed 2K GBP). I also never understood why there is a "council tax".
