Looking at property type jobs?
Besides obviously investment sales/broker are there any specific positions within RE where you would be out a lot looking at properties? Do ACquistions analyst mainly do the modeling in office stuff?

Yes, acquisitions guys tour properties while in the underwriting process. You can also look at asset/portfolio management.
Acquisitions/AM/PM all tour properties. I'm on an acquisitions team at a REPE shop in the NE and fly across the country ~2 times a month to look at properties. Will revisit properties/markets during execution, repositioning, development and when we transition the property to third party management. I've had to fly out on last minute notice to meet with sellers, operating partners, etc.
Sounds awesome, I want that.
How competitive is job market for AM/PM positions in RE?
I'm in REPE acquisitions as well and it appears the higher up you are in the chain the more your travel increases. As an analyst I usually get out maybe once a quarter with the CIO on a property tour.
That being said our focus is much more regional so the length and variety of travel is cut down greatly.
Yeah that's my goal
I'm in corp RE right now in analyst capital budgeting type project role. there's other teams such as PM and transactions which visit sites. Would rather get out of corporate and try and find a pure RE firm to do like AM in. I interned as analyst at very small development firm before for 6 months. Would be hard but I do interview well so if I can at least foot in door I think I can make it lol
