Lower Level Graduate Degree?
I am considering getting my masters in economics or an MBA. I'm leaning towards economics because I don't want to have to go through the management and marketing classes, etc. I just want to learn about Finance and Economics. I presently am in charge of fuel supply and purchasing for a fuel wholesaler. My undergrad was dual accounting/finance and the owner wants me to take more of a trading/hedging role to maximize our margins and even get our own barrels in the pipelines. I think an economics education would probably be my best bet with some finance electives. Would it matter if its from a small school? Additionally, does anyone know of any classes to help me prepare for that besides for OPIS's fuel management course and FCStone's energy hedging course? General commodity courses may be useful but I'm not sure where to look.
Thanks in advance for any help!
How many years of W/E? GPA? GMAT? Goals?
W/E = 2 years, Undergrad GPA was 3.5 GMAT 615. The goal is to get into one of the Oil Majors or an energy risk management firm.
615 GMAT?
GMAT scores are in multiples of ten. Just FYI.
