No. So if you do bring food, you're going to have to eat it in the bathroom stall. Usually I bring very soft foods such as tuna sandwiches and Gogurts (spoons make too much noise), BUT if you do decide to bring something crunchy it is CRUCIAL to flush during every bite to maintain inconspicuousness.

My in-office lunches:

Prepackaged cold cuts for like $4.99 that have about 40g protein total 8oz Flank steak sliced up thin on top of spinach with tomatoes and yogurt-based ranch dressing 8oz Lean cheeseburger (93/7) - no bun 8oz Shredded chicken with a little bit of bbq sauce or if I want to be really sad that day, a can of low sodium Tuna in water

45 minutes? Yes, there's the 45 minutes before 6am, and 45minutes after 11pm. Twice a day for coffee breaks? That's what espresso machines are for. I have one on my desk. Saves me at least 10 minutes a day.

If you're working 6am - 11pm in research then you're either terribly inefficient or your boss is a sadist.

To the OP, I'd say it depends on where you work. I work at a boutique firm, which is much more laid back than a BB would be. We have lunch catered every day because the traders and most of the salesmen usually don't leave for lunch. However, most of research goes out to lunch every day unless its earnings season or you're just really busy. I would say my firm is pretty more laid back than most though given that we're fairly small, private and in New Orleans.
