M&A Internship with Small Company ?
Hi All,
Looking to get some genuine feedback on this post. I have been interning in Business Development with a large IT Defense Contractor for quite awhile now (5 Months) and was just offered a position supporting a small Aerospace & Defense Company with M&A. Just finished my freshman year.
So, essentially the new company is looking to acquire some companies this year for growth, and are hiring me to assist with M&A Research and Analysis. However, what concerns me is that I am not getting any financial modeling or analysis done. During the interview, I was told that I would be given a certain criteria in what kind of companies they would be looking for and I would primarily be doing Google searches and researching their capabilities, customers, and etc.
I am nonetheless thankful that I received this opportunity, but would this be something that would be of help to me on my resume in pursuing IB internships next year (despite the fact that there is no financial modeling involved)?
I look forward to the feedback and comments.
Thanks everyone.
if you have no other options then its fine. You can practice modelling during your downtime, maybe modelling out financials of the companies you research.
