getting inti IB in london is kinda different, specially for international students. the best students from coutries around the world get into top one year master programmes int he UK so that they can get into IB. some british who went to mediocre undergrads try to get into a top master programme so that they too can get into IB. Apparantley in London, they recruit students from master programmes, and since you got into such a programme(specially internationals), it means tha tyou are the creme of the creme(pronounce in french please). All the roads lead to Rome. Anyways, that is not the case in the US, a Harvard master (bad example, since they dont have interesting master programmes) wont overshadow your crappy undergrad or the fact that you studied in the exterior. They just recruit from undergrads or top PHD programmes in the case of quants.

It's a little annoying to Open up IBO and see the first 3 threads being about the Ivey School of Business, London Pay Packages and UBS HK. This has absolutely no bearing on US IB, I'm sure foreign analysts feel equally irritated having to sift through threads searching for a topic relevant to their region.

I'd agree with you, even in completely non-international-related posts they come in with information that, while correct for them, could easily skew and mislead some of the students on here.

Should also consider a "Meet the Firms" section, for questions about firms and comparisons --because it's getting pretty repetitive.
