Marakon salary estimate
Hi all,
Just a quick question. I have a senior associate (post mba) role at Marakon in London. The firm will call me in a few days to discuss the offer - salary, sign on, benefits, etc., etc. Would anyone have an idea on approx. Marakon salary bands.
Thx everybody!

would like to know as well
Heard from some friends that Marakon in London was giving something around 70-80 base + 15-20 sign-on + ~5 stub year bonus for a total of ~90-100k GBP for immediate post b-school roles. Not sure though...
How good are Marakon in London? (Originally Posted: 11/06/2015)
Just wanted to benchmark them against other strategy consulting firms. My main criteria would be: 1) reputation 2) exit opps 3) opportunities for self development 4) interesting work
So how do they compare? Lower than MBB I assume. How about the others?
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks!
(Bump) I'd be interested to hear about this too
Anyone?
I never heard of this firm before. For what is worth, it is ranked in the Top 50 consulting firms in Vault ranking: http://www.vault.com/company-profiles/management-strategy/marakon/compa…
Thanks for that. Anyone else? Could really use some opinions on the firm?
I interviewed with them in NYC. Strong strategy practice (literally nothing else), really small, but pretty far below MBB or what it used to be pre-acquisition by CRA. A lot of their top partners got poached in the move.
As far as I could tell from my conversations about locations, it's not strong in London. I'd consider other offers before taking Marakon in London.

Anybody have the specifics for a group like this? Hours/Compensation/Lifestyle/Exit Opps?
It's simply Marakon Associates (which is now the advisory arm of Trinsum Group).
Very small (200+ consultants worldwide) so firm culture and fit is heavily emphasized. Hours generally hover around 60 and manager bonus compensation is actually directly tied with the work/life balance, so it is taken into consideration. They also follow a Tuesday-Thursday travel model, so you won't be flying out on a Sunday red-eye or anything.
Compensation, from what I hear, is quite competitive. Can't comment on exit opps.
Thanks. Any info on their UGrad recruitment?? Do they tend to stick to a select group of schools?
As far as I know, they generally stick to a few target schools. UPenn and Northwestern are their prime recruiting grounds, though I'm sure they recruit from a few other schools. However, given their small size, it is likely very very difficult to come on board from undergrad unless you're a student at one of those two schools.
For those interested...
Apparently Marakon (now Trinsum after their merger with IFL) is going through a bit of a rough transition period right now as a result of their ongoing integration process. Layoffs have occurred, as well as voluntary departures.

What's the deal with this company? I have an interview coming up with them. From what I understand they were a top boutique like Parthenon or something but then they went bust and got bought out by CRA.
Does anyone know what they're like now? Is there still good talent there and do they still get good projects? Would it still be a respected position that could get you good exit options into industry? I've looked around but can't find much about the current state of things.
Are you at Northwestern? I had heard they really scaled back their recruiting to focus there.
Definitely not as prestigious or do the same quality of work as legacy Marakon. A lot of the partners left when Trinsum fell through. Not sure how they're doing at CRA, but that acquisition just didn't make sense. That being said, exit ops to school would be good. Not sure about industry.
I'm in the UK. I did get the sense from their promotional material that US recruitment was almost all Northwestern.
The company seems pretty appealing in terms of culture and work life balance but that's too bad about the partners leaving. I'll take the interview obviously, but I'll keep that in mind.
