Market trend case study

I have a final round coming up and I was told that they will want me to pull a data set from excel like for example rental properties for 12 months and then write a research report on it...

How would I do that. Would I make a pivot table in excel and export it to word and then right an executive summary as to why it's an attractive offer?

I really haven't the slightest idea

Thanks!

I think they mean make some charts and paste into excel, but would need exact language as you can link between excel to word. I doubt that is their intention though. I wouldn't use pivot tables, more sophisticated way is to avoid them and use sumproducts, sumifs etc...

Thanks, but wouldn't I need a graph to represent the financial assumption? A pivot table would be that chart?

What do you mean by sumproduct and sumifs? Isn't that just addition?
