MBA: HSW directly from BB IB?
So I was talking to my friend (who's already done the 2yr banking stint) about whether it's possible to get into HSW MBA directly from banking, and apparently there are a few people who get a direct promotion to Associate and then go to HSW.
I'm guessing that they do it as a career changer. But it sort of seems like 2 yrs analyst =>early promotion => 1yr associate => MBA; so 3 years in Finance then top MBA programs. Does anyone personally know someone who's done this?
Also, what kind of analysts directly get into these programs?
It's possible. My friend was a 2 year analyst, then associate for 1 year at a Macquarie/Nomura/Mizuho and recently left to Wharton.
BB IBD (GMJ) to B-school (HSW) --> How does it work? (Originally Posted: 10/30/2013)
Incoming IBD Analyst at a top BB (GMJ) and thinking of pursuing b-school sometime soon. What's the way to get to a top b-school ASAP after you start your IB analyst stint?
I'd be interested in this as well
Interested as well.
I'm also an incoming analyst so take what I say with a grain of salt. I think you should be taking your GMAT in senior year while you have time to prepare. Then expect to stay at your BB for probably 3 years since grad schools would prob prefer 3 years of work experience vs 2 years.
Lets be clear, it's GS MS JPM. GMJ just sounds stupid. Lets not turn it into a thing.
