MBB - Previous Application dinged, need advice

I'm a Canadian doing my MSc at a top school in Europe, and while I'm applying for IB's in London, I'm applying for MBB in Toronto because among other reasons, strat firms are typically more regional and less likely to sponsor visas.

After some back and forth questions last year with Bain HR, I applied and got dinged even before any initial testing or phone interviews, which I was really surprised about. Due to my high grades, international work and university experience, and several languages I was expecting to at least get to the telephone interview, as I am head and shoulders above the average BCom undergrad.

The only things that come to mind are: a) that my stated address was in Europe, even though I stated I was able to do phone or skype interviews and maybe this hassle set them off, and/or b) that MBB in Toronto typically only hire from Queens/Ivy etc and ignore all the rest.

Does anyone have any advice on what my best course of action is?

ibjhopeful:
if you are applying to the Canadian office use your Canadian address. HR probably didn't read your resume beyond the address on the top.

Thanks, will do that this time.

What was the title of the position you were applying for at Bain?

Just the standard Associate Consultant Intern summer position that they advised me to apply for.
