Mck PST waiver

I passed the Mck PST a year ago but didn't get through the case interviews.

I was thinking of re-applying this coming spring again but was hoping to get a waiver from the PST this time round (owing to both credentials, including solid work experience and 760 gmat score, and the fact that I had already passed the PST before).

Anyone have any insight? I read somewhere that it happens. How accurate is this?

And while we're at it - will BCG waive their test if I tell them I passed the Mck PST and am interviewing with them?

"... then, lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it."

why would it look bad to tell BCG i passed at Mck? surely they would assume i'm applying to both, right?

and about Mck getting rid of the PST: 1. does that mean it's harder to get through the first screening (for those not required to take the PST anymore)? 2. I have a master's in econ and more than 5 years of diverse, relevant experience. am i considered APD? as in, should i apply straight for associate?

They may assume you're applying to both, but they don't care. There are people who get offers from McK and not BCG, and vice versa. Success in McK's recruiting process won't mean anything to BCG; they are going to want you to pass their interview process. They aren't going to take McK's word for it. It looks bad because you are giving the impression that McK's test is better/harder, and BCG should just follow along.

  1. I don't know, anything I say would be conjecture.
  2. I don't think you'd be an APD guy, unless you are currently enrolled in your Master's program. If you already have it and are currently working, you'd be an experienced hire candidate. Either way, I'd shoot for Associate and they can put you at a different role if appropriate.
