McK vs ACN Strategy

I am trying to make up my mind about these offers:

  1. McKinsey BTO Germany (base salary 70k Eur)
  2. Accenture Strategy Switzerland (base salary ca 98k Chf = 90k Eur)

The brand of McK is obviously much stronger, but Accenture Strategy offers access to the Swiss market, which could be a stepping stone to Tier 1 Swiss firms.

Currently I am leaning towards McK due to the steeper learning curve and better brand for long-term prospects, despite currently lower salary in Germany. Any thoughts?

Apart from the salary, both are focused on different things. McKinsey is BTO and Accenture is Strategy. I don't know how difficult it is to move from BTO to Generalist at McK but that won't be happening in the first year and until you have established yourself in BTO and someone is willing to vouch for you. So if you are heart is set on Strategy and Swiss, Accenture seems to be a better option. Obviously, with McK you get brand recognition but if you hate the work that you will be doing every day, there is no point. Life is short.
