Mizuho Corporate Research Division Americas

Does anyone have insight into the following role? Is this a proper Credit Research department? What should I expect for a salary here? I would be coming in as either an AVP or VP:

About the Corporate Research Division Americas Department:
The Corporate Research Division Americas Department (CRDA) is responsible for conducting in-depth research focusing on targeted companies and/or industries within the Americas existing/potential portfolio to help support the credit and risk functions and bank senior management on credit decisions. CRDA is part of the Mizuho global research platform within the bank’s global credit groups, consisting of our Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore and London. The Team reports to Corporate Research Division (CRD) in Tokyo.

Summary:
The Research Team AVP plays an integral role within the Mizuho global research function led by the CRD in Tokyo as well as the Americas Credit Division. This position must possess advanced research capability and in-depth industry knowledge in order to make accurate recommendations to the management for the individual borrower and/or specific industries. This position will focus on a variety of industries, including but not limited to Retail, Healthcare/Managed Care, TMT, Chemicals, Real Estate and REITs, Consumer Products, etc.

Core Responsibilities:
Prepares accurate and in-depth company and industry research report based on publicly available information and information obtained by the interviews and meetings with various stakeholders. Produces value added research reports with a strong emphasis on financial projections. Provides effective analysis of the company and/or the industry, analyzes long-term historical performance and corporate history, identifies strengths and risks, and competitive positions within the industry sectors. Prepares financial projections based on the findings through research with various assumptions. Makes an effective presentation of the research report to the management. Proactively monitors the companies within the assigned industries including market data such as stock prices, EDF and CDS, other appropriate indices or any key events/news and reports the information and its impact on the companies/industries to the management in a timely manner.

Qualifications:
Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the industries and key industry players.
Advanced research skills
Proven credit analysis skills and analytical skills and knowledge
Ability to accurately identify and evaluate underlying risk elements of the borrowers.
Aptitude to write well organized, accurate and in-depth reports.
Strong multitasking ability to proactively monitor the pool of credits within the assigned industries to detect potential credit problems at an early stage.
Sufficient experience to perform all of the above with limited involvement by management.

Consistently demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Capable of working well independently and in teams.
Strong knowledge of Mizuho’s credit policies and procedures.
Effectively analyzes and solves problems/issues.
5+ years of relevant experience preferable.
