MM IB to EB RX?

I work at MM IB in a generalist program and have been here about 1 year. Overall, I think the work is very interesting with a good amount of modeling and I feel pretty competent with my work, but I want to switch into a specific group rather than a generalist program. I worked on a RX deal in the past and I really enjoyed that type of work.

I was wondering if anyone has hired into a full time roll in a EB RX group? ( such as HL, PJT, Lazard, Evercore, etc)

Do RX groups ever have random openings where they need another FT analyst that is generally already trained? What is the best way to go about finding these opening?

Thanks

Roles do open up if analysts decide to go to their buyside opps earlier than the end of their 2 year stint. Not sure about MM IB but had a colleague at top BB (MS/GS) from a different coverage group switch to RX at PJT/LAZ during his 1st year a few months ago. You would need to be really proactive and technically sound to make the switch.

I am pretty technically sound and I think that I would be very qualified. It is just hard to identify when an analyst leaves PJT, EVR, LAZ, ect and interview right away. I am just trying to figure out how to do it from a recruiting perspective. I think I will take Brosef Stalin17 advice and try to network to find about opportunities as they arise. Unlike most people, I don't mind if I do banking for 3-4 years before switching into a buy side role.

Thanks
