Morgan Stanley Equity Research Associate Computer Exam
Just got an interview for tomorrow at Morgan Stanley for an Equity Research Associate position. After my two interviews I will be given a one hour computer exam that will test my excel abilities apparently. Does anyone have any experience with this test or any ideas what can be tested on this? Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
it's a financial model. know how to fully model a company's projected financials, value its equity using public comps and DCF (don't worry about precedents), and be good at summarizing an earnings press release (just salient points, like a one page summary). You should be covered if you can do those.
just wondering...are you trying to join as an experienced hire with research background? changing industry? straight from undergrad?
^I don't think they'd expect you to have that kind of game on the computer coming straight from UG... but if they do then more power to them
Sweet username OP
undergrad
A mate of mine did the test and he got the job. Alot of it is manipulation of data and creating graphs.
Hey guys- Similar question. I've advanced to final round with CS in ER...1 year out of Undergrad...required to build an earnings model from the ground up and support your PO/valuation with relevant information.
Also, has anyone heard that some shops (e.g. CS) are eliminating bonuses at the junior levels (according to dealbreaker). Any truth to this?
Thanks.
Does anyone know if all undergrads have to take this exam? Is it for students who are coming from non-target schools(George and prospective banker: would appreciate it if u guys can comment on this)
Thanks
