Career Resources
I'd be curious to hear how this is being implemented... does it cover SAs too? Are they going to finish recruiting cycles they're in the middle of at targets? Anyone who has insight let us know.
They're coming on campus for an info session at my school tomorrow night, so I'll find out what's up.... Unless, of course, somebody on here actually works for MS and fills us in before then
Why would it affect SA's? SA recruiting starts in 2011, no?
This in no way has been confirmed internally. I spoke with my assigned HR person today and they haven't been told anything. This article is probably as useful as Bloomberg's financials.
You know, I doubt that HR would tell you... and I have a feeling Bloomberg's MS contacts are a bit higher on the pay-scale than your HR point of contact.
thanks for the insight slick.
UBS HR gave out the same "everything is fine" message to new employees days before full time offers were rescinded.
News Flash: HR will lie to you during every stage of recruiting.
Is this going to be in effect for GCM as well?
Guys, bad news! The resume drop for MS GCM (due Oct. 4th) just got removed from my school's career website.
Not all bad, though: FT IBD Analyst is still up and so are SA positions.
Our IBD position got pulled ....
That figures. Only a matter of time before ours gets pulled, too.
Here's what I know about recruiting so far from VPs and MDs I've been networking with at different banks:
BAML: Not recruiting for FT IBD Barclays: Has a small number of spots for FT IBD, definitely more optimistic than the other BBs Morgan Stanley: Not lookin good at all; hiring freeze appears very real JP Morgan: Not recruiting for FT IBD
Maybe they were exaggerating when they said they were just going to take the people from last summer and they actually are recruiting at a few schools, but I kind of doubt it. Their stories were all really similar.
I've also heard from rumors that Credit Suisse isn't recruiting but I can't confirm that
BAML is at my school... I think they're still recruiting for FT IBD
Sometimes they might come to campus to recruit only to use the people as a backup to those who might not accept the SA -> FT offer?
Can that be the case?
Anyway, I talked to an MS guy who says this is just for S&T... my school's IBD posting is still up.
don't think barcap is being optimistic. they are bleeding bankers over there. most of my friends that started there / lehman have left over the past couple of months for other banks.
Welp, looks like I'm going to be working for Accenture. Fuck My Life.
BAML is definitely still recruiting for FT IBD. One of the super days will be on Friday 10/8. Their recent layoffs were targeted at the "bottom" 5% of the bank (ala what Goldman does every year).
Well, it's nice to think that superday = "we're hiring", but sometimes they just go through the motions in order to keep relationships with the on campus career services.
Good luck, though.
This is true, but just this past monday at an internal update meeting the bank has said
Is this just for Undergraduate hiring or MBA hiring as well? I have a friend who is a summer associate that just got a return offer at MS front office.
so back and middle office hiring has to halt too?
did this ever come to fruition?
