Moving from Big4 CF to PE in London

Dear fellow monkeys,

I was offered employment with Big4 CF in London at a senior associate level (Sertificate of sponsorship provided by Big 4). I like the idea of moving to UK but I seek to move to PE thereafter.
I'm currently working in a small Eastern-Europe PE shop (CFA qualified. What are my chances of moving to PE shop in London (provided that the Sertificate of sponsorship will be required)?

Thank you!

I've seen this done in Australia which may be similar to the UK experience. Big 4 is generally well-regarded in IB and PE circles. Though its more common place to see Big 4 to IB then to PE rather than directly to PE. Though this happens as well. Might be a battle with the mega funds though.

Speaking from my observations exclusively here:

1) Megafunds - no possibility at all unless you don't want to be in an investment team? A friend of mine moved to a megafund IR team from a Big 4, but even this is apparently rare.

2) Some PE funds seek exclusively those who have an M&A/consulting background, whereas there are others which are seemingly solely filled by former accountants and ACAs. They are usually at the much smaller end of the MM scale.

It is certainly possible, but more about finding the right sort of fund and them having a suitable position for you.
