MSc Finance for Corporate Finance/Strategy/Development
I am starting a MSc Finance at a target school in Europe this fall and I was wondering how would the degree be seen from the perspective of F500 companies. I'm not set on working in a bank; I'd love a role in Corporate Finance/Strategy/Development in non-finance companies. I'd even go as far to say that I prefer the latter. However, I'm worried that I'd come off as someone who applies for CF/CS/CD roles only as a back up, since most people doing a MSc in Finance are only interested in IB or S&T and I guess F500 recruiters know that. What should I do to make it perfectly clear that I'm not applying for CF roles only as a back up for banking? I can do a specialization in Corporate Finance, but this also can be taken as a sign that I want to go in IB. Further, I have two finance internships and I can do a third one this summer. How should I spin my finance experience when applying for roles in non-finance companies and would a third internship in finance actually hinder my chances of getting a role in CF/CS/CD?
In general, if anyone with a postgraduate degree in finance who has interviewed with F500 companies sees this, I'd love to hear about their experience.
Thank you.
