MSF for non-banking jobs?

I am currently in Pharma sales, but am looking to transition into a non-sales job in the financial space (financial manager, cfo type role). For this, I am considering an MA in finance (can't get into top MBA program), but have no interesting in i-banking as many seem to be who pursue an msf degree.

Would an MSF be beneficial in this instance or is it more for those looking to work in banking?

It would absolutely be beneficial. You are probably under the impression that most people pursuing an MSF are interested in investment banking due to this forum's focus on investment banking. Most MSF students do not end up in investment banking. Many try, but most do not end up being bankers.

There are plenty of people in MSF programs that go into corporate finance, investment management, equity research, corporate strategy, accounting, consulting, risk management, sales & trading, wealth management, and other areas.
