My Introduction - 9 months into job hunt. Yikes.
Hello all!
This is my first post and, as titled, it is my introductory post. I graduated in May from a small, non-target school with a degree in finance and a minor in economics. I have completed one internship with a RIA associated with Morgan Stanley and that is my only relevant work experience. I am currently working in marine construction (jobhunting for 8 hours a day doesn't pay my loans), but I am interested in working as an internal wholesaler (with aspirations to become an external). In addition, I am experiencing what I like to call "Professional Purgatory". Almost all relevant entry-level positions require a minimum of 1-3 years of work experience (I have 4 months) in order to even have the application processed. In order to gain that experience, I would need to complete another internship. When I try and apply for an internship, I am notified that the applicants must be in their final or penultimate year of school. This is the conundrum I find myself in. I am going to post my resume to a separate forum later. The purpose of this post was to give you a general idea of my goals as a post-graduate and where I stand in reaching those goals. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I am excited to be a new member of this community.
