Private Capital Advisory - Typical analyst deliverables and day-to-day work
Hey guys,
So I know people have explained what PCA is on here, but can I get some insights about what an analyst does day to day? I know that the group focuses on raising money for funds and also advising funds on whether to sell their assets off or not but what specifically does the analyst do to support the process?
Financial modeling to determine value of potential sell/purchase assets/interests owned by clients?
Marketing materials to raise funds for clients?
Market/industry research to support clients investment thesis?
If I'm totally off, please correct me guys, but I'd be very interested in better insights to what an analyst does in PCA and maybe an detailed example of a "deal" from start to finish and where PCA comes in. Thanks.
also interested as well
Bump, I would also be really interested.
Need help for private capital advisory (Originally Posted: 02/02/2013)
Hey WSO,
I have an informational interview for private capital advisory at Greenhill. I got it through networking and I am basically gonna have 30 minutes to impress the managing director so that I could potentially get a summer offer. The thing is, I'm not sure what Private Capital Advisory actually is, and I'm not sure what I should expect or ask him? I currently work in Equity Research at a BB if that makes any difference.
Hopefully you've read the detailed description on their website and in their SEC filings?
Hey thanks Kenny, I never thought about going through their SEC filings. For some reason my gut is telling me this isn't enough though. What are they looking for in a candidate? Do they do summer interns? What I want to know is what I can say to this MD to get him to hire me for the summer. It seems like there is no formal process for this type of thing? (In the sense that their is 1st round, 2nd round, superday, etc)
Not sure, but it sounds like private placements, in which case use the search function to learn more.
