Need some direction on what to do.....havent found a FT...looking for months...resume inside!

Hey guys I've been looking for months now and havent found a full time position. I have gotten a few interviews but I'm really struggling. I graduated in 2012, from a non target and have yet to secure anything paid. I just dont know what to do anymore.

I've reached out to friends who work at BB's and nothing came of it, reached out to alumni and nothing came of it, no interviews. I've applied online to about 500-600 places by now.

I dont tailor my resume however to every position. I've met with about 3-4 recruiters as well.

My appearance is solid and I think my presentation skills are decent.

What more can I do?

Can't see anything glaring on your resume that would be a big red flag for employers, especially if you aren't set on FO only. Whats your GPA? I'm assuming its on the low end as I didn't see anything on your resume, thats the only problem I could find.

What was the situation with the few interviews you had? Why didn't any of them turn it to offers? Just trying to get more insight into your process and what might be going wrong. 500 apps, a few recruiters and some networking seems like a lot to still have nothing. For now, my best advice would be more networking. Contact old bosses from internships, reach out everywhere you can

Where are you looking? Geographically and in terms of roles

My Gpa is 3.3, but I was advised to not put it on my resume because it was too low. I'm not really sure why they didnt turn into offers, I tried to re play the interviews in my head to try and pin point what went wrong. But my guess is as good as anyone else, since its tough to have an objective analysis on yourself.

I live 20 minutes from the center of NYC financial center, so everything I've applied to has been in NYC, NJ and tri state area.

I've kind of run out of contacts to network with so thats a bit tough when you have to resort to cold emailing etc. I've also tried applying through craigislist and finding jobs related to finance and nothing works.

A lot of questions to ask. First one: Have you any job since 2012? Also the reads more like blame the messenger. I graduated without a job as well, but went out all to network and interview. I was fortunate to find something relatively soon after graduation and now work in the role I have been working towards in undergrad. If you network as much as you can and applied to that many jobs, I am just confused as to how you were not able to a land an offer through this time.

No after 2012, I haven't had a full paying job, I went through periods of looking for a full time job to finding an internship and hoped that more experience would make gaining employment easier. I've been searching for a job full time for about 3-4 months with about 3-4 interviews so far.

Wish I could give you a quick fix answer, but i'm not really sure I can. Might want to search around about GPA on here, but my first thought is you had under a 3.0 without it being on your resume. 3.3 isn't the highest, but I think you could still show it, especially if you aren't IBD or bust.

I'm curious if part of the problem is you are applying to such a large variety of places that you don't really know what you want to do, which probably shows in interviews. Your resume/experience ranges from operational finance/corp fin to FA/trading, so make sure you have a good story of what you learned from those and how that has molded your interest into whatever job it is you are interviewing for.

What types of jobs are you applying to that require experience? If we had a clearer picture of your end goal, we might be able to help a bit more. You definitely have some internship experience (looks like you've been interning since graduation in may 2012 - until 2014), were you actively hunting during this time too? I feel like someone in the finance world somewhere should be willing to give a 3.3 GPA with 3 internships an entry level gig somewhere (BO, MO, corp fin, FA, etc), so it leads me to think there is something else wrong.

I'm applying to junior analyst roles, to trade support roles, performance analyst roles, anything that's BO/MO. My end goal is a BO/MO full time position, its that simple.

The reason why my experience looks like its been all over the place, because it is, I took whatever opportunities that I had at the time and I didnt really have much of a choice of doing anything else.

I cant find any entry level roles in BO/MO that only require 1-2 years of experience or less.
