Networking Advice - Decided to do a Accounting/Finance double major

Here's the deal: After cruising around here for a few weeks and getting some great info from all of you monkeys, I have decided to do a Accounting/Finance dual major (Master's in Acct/BBA in Finance), regardless of having practically zero IB alum at my school. I have to at least try, right?

So, since there isn't much of an alumni base in IB from my school (total non-target) how should I go about networking? I do know that I am interested in Energy, and my ultimate goal would be Houston (not too picky with regards to BB, boutique, MM, ect).

Any advice on trying to get my name out there? Also, what year would be ideal for me to start networking?

Thanks in advance!
