Hi all,

Can someone speak to any difference (If there are any) between Breakfast networking vs Dinner networking event? I've been invited to attend a breakfast networking and was wondering what to expect.

During breakfast, you have to approach those you're attempting to network with using a completely different attitude, and if you can muster it, persona. Having a foreign accent helps, otherwise at least strictly refrain from contractions. Most people are more formal when the day begins and "loosen the tie," language-wise, as the day progresses.

People will judge you based on your coffee contents, so make sure it accurately reflects the image you are trying to project. Sugar screams "diabetes waiting to happen" while artificial sugar packets should be color coordinated with your tie. Sugar "in the raw" may project a somewhat "hip" image, so it is important to consider your audience. Look for mustaches and tight pants as key indicators. Skim milk says you work out, soy milk says you're pretentious, flavored creamer says you're creative, half & half says you're indecisive, and pure cream says you don't give a shit. Remember, tea is only appropriate with a British, Southern US, or Chinese fake accent.
