NEW CENTURY CAPITAL PARTNERS - info please on internship and firm

Hi All,

I'm having a phone interview with New Century Capital Partners in a few days for an internship position. From what I know, it is a small tech boutique in Los Angeles and their internship is only 6 months in duration, with no guarantee of full-time afterwards. I don't know whether most summer analyst/internship positions are paid or unpaid for boutiques... Any info about the firm and experiences from previous interns would be much appreciated! Thanks!

I had a phone interview with them a while back for an internship and was told the position was full-time and unpaid but I think with potential for bonus (don't quote me on that though). I believe they were considering changing it to a paid internship position in the future.

Interview was pretty-straightforward, mostly fit and questions about my resume. Only technical I remember is asking to name and describe the 3 financial statements.

I have not worked there, but I know a few people who have worked there in the past. From what they have told me - they work a tremendous amount of hours even interns ( expect 9 to 12 at night), but they close some decent small/middle cap tech deals. Internships are usually unpaid and are 6 months long from what I know and there is no guarantee of a job offer. Culture wise they are collegial and most of the bankers are from HL or BB Banks, so they try to carry over that culture.

I have not worked there before, but had the opportunity to intern. Overall, the people were smart. The guy that interviewed me recently left to join another boutique.

The above post is correct. They have unpadi internship positions (6 mo long) but it is not a guarantee that one will receive a full time offer. I'm not sure how many interns have actually turn their internships into a full time offer.

As far as hours, I really don't know. But 9 to 12 sounds like normal IB hours. Most analyst at my place, leave no earlier than midnight. Again this is just NORMAL.

Thanks for the info.

Btw, is that normal, working almost full IB hours unpaid as an intern? I am aware of interns working unpaid and this is typically on a part-time basis. Don't full-time interns get at least some sort of stipend/pay?
