Noob With Dreams

Hello,

I am currently student in a Chicago University, but I live in the suburbs that, and I'm trying to gain experience in either valuation or banking. I don't any experience and first person in my family to even go to college. I was researching so many sites and I am across this forum type community.

What I look to gain from this website is to learn A LOT more. One of the things I believed in is that if I go into every classroom/experience thinking I'm the shit or the smartest, I won't learn anything; I ALWAYS believed that I could learn from anyone regardless of who they are, where they are from and what they do.

I am just looking to gain more support and learn more about everything I can and have to in order to break into these industries. Thanks!

-BJ

What year are you?

Try to borrow some IB guides, or IB books from friends. They can be quite costly (Assuming you are poor), and uncertain about what can happen. Also, make sure you use the search feature of the website to search for stuff you are thinking about, usually more efficient than asking questions and waiting for responses.

Also, start early, there is a lot to learn. Take a basic finance course, a basic accounting course, then start off with Rosenbaum's Investment Banking. Get some interview guides. Take note of what you don't understand and further research it. Know what the equations mean, the drivers of the metrics etc..
