This is for a lateral hiring and not anything structured recruiting btw. I am very nervous and really really want this opportunity. The interviewers asked what my timeline was (whether I am looking to move immediately), so nothing everything is lost yet right?

If it is not structured than it could take more time. Mine was totally non-structured at JPM/MS/GS. They extended offer like 2 weeks after the superday. I totally had lost hope and thought they were calling me to two weeks later to talk about superday traveling reimbursement, to only later realize that they called to extend an offer.

Wait it out.

What above poster said. Could take some time - no news in this case isn't necessarily bad news. Don't expect replies to thank you emails - I've actually only received replies when I've been rejected by firms (interviewers feeling bad?) and have not received replies (for the most part) from interviewers at firms where I got the offer.

Yeah I really want to chill too but, well to me my job matters alot.

Is the timeline for lateral (non-campus) hiring longer than a few weeks and is this normal at other places?

I think this is the first time that none of my interviewers ever even not responded with a simple email say Thank You or something of the like. My alum, who organized the meetings, was super friendly and responsive on the phone and on emails before we met and was quite nice when I met him last week.

Thanks guys. I have only interviewed for SA and 1st year entry level positions and this is my first lateral recruiting position. For SAs and 1st year positions, 1 week was a long time so I was assuming the timeline is similar for post-college recruiting.

Keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks guys.
