NYC Coverage vs. Satellite (LA/ SF)

Need some advice here. Do you guys think working in a BB in NYC as a coverage banker would give you better execution experience (i.e. financial modeling --> for PE exit opps) or working at a satellite in SF or LA where there is no pure M&A team at the office that teams up with your coverage group to do a transaction, and thus, you might get better execution experience?

Does M&A execution even matter THAT much for exit opps for PE? I keep hearing M&A and FSG groups are the best, and I seem to be seeing that when I go through PE websites searching under their teams--most their associates are from M&A and FSG.

Let's assume just considering the BBs (minus GS, since they don't have an M&A team) b/c the elite boutiques are all pure product anyway.

Thoughts?
