NYU MSRE vs Zicklin MSRE

I’m currently 36 and manage an analytics component for a portfolio of mortgage-backed security transactions for a global bank in the role of a trustee/calculation agent (mid-office role). I have an economics degree from Hunter College. I would like to get into valuating real estate for investment purposes. I’m aware that NYU MSRE is a top program and isn’t really comparable with Zicklin, but here is the dilemma. The bank pays $10k a year for tuition; if I extend the program at NYU to the maximum (5 years), I will need to put in $25k out of pocket. Zicklin will be all paid for and done in two years. I got into both schools. Thanks for your suggestions.

I think it depends on the value add from both schools. If you just want the knowledge, go with Zicklin. If NYU is better ( which in this case I'll assume means recruiting opportunities) and you want to move then go with that. It may or not be worth the $25k, but only you can make that decision based on A) what you want to get out of the program B) your perceived value of the program and C) how much you're willing to put into the program to get that result.
