Oaktree Modeling Test /Case Study

Hi all,

I am looking for some info about Oaktree's case study/modeling test. It is apparently the same for all the teams.
Has anyone ever done it?

Thanks,

Scratchy

Did it in London -- Build out 3 statement model and LBO in 1 hour. Relatively straightforward -- except the information that they give is quite limited (so lots of assumptions)

Building a 3-statement model + LBO in 1 hour from a blank spreadsheet? That sounds unreasonably tight?

Was it purely a modeling test/case study where you hand in the results and then that's that, or were there debrief interviews where they went into detail why you did certain things?

Sorry for not replying --- missed this. Build from scratch, with a highly highly notional business plan (1 or 2 revenue drivers, everything else as % sales). They flagged that only 60% or so actually finish -- and its not a 100% ding if you dont finish.

It was 95% modelling focussed, i.e. here are the numbers go model. They then asked some high level questions on how you would think about such an investment.

For the investment case style case studies, all verbal -- think consulting case studies, and lots of them (1 or 2 per interview)

Scratchy, You ever take this test? I've got to do this one for an off-cycle process I'm part of as well. I've done a valuation/stock recommendation and now I've got a case that includes 3 hours of prep (reading Ks, Qs, news/reports) and a 1 hour presentation of where to invest in the capital structure (relative value). Let me know if you'd be willing to connect at all. Thank you!

When I came to WSO I didn't know shit about VC, asked a bunch of questions, learned, got the job... same for PE. Now, turning to things like spec sits where you choose where to invest in the capital structure.

How do you figure out where to invest in the capital structure? What analyses? Where can you find the primers on how to do this online? I only know how to LBO model.

Is there anyway that I can find companies modeling tests? I completed the WSO guide fairly easy so I want to get more reps.

Did it awhile back but sounds like it's the same one they use, PM me

Anyone advertising pecasestudies.com is a piece of shit - I was a sucker and bought one of their cases thinking it was going to be from 2021 but it was actually from 5+ years ago. Obviously will be disputing the charge.

Will upload somewhere and post the link if people are still interested. fuck whoever is running that site
