On Campus Recruiting Problem

Monkeys,
I am currently a sophomore at a semi-target and have a problem with OCR. All the BBs along with MBB recruit on campus and have information sessions but most of them revolve around ops and MO/BO. How can I use the current OCR to get to FO without offending anyone of the BO recruiters?

SECfinanceIf your info sessions and OCR listings are for MO/BO, you aren't at a semi-target.

GS/BAML/MS all have MO/BO listings but banks like UBS/RBS/CS/BarCap and other boutiques have FO listings. Should I just rule out GS/BAML/MS? Also, would it be better to try and get MO at GS/BAML/MS than front office S&T at UBS/RBS/CS/BarCap and other boutiques?

No, it wouldn't be better to try and get MO at GS/BAML/MS if S&T is what you want to do. You can go to the info sessions and ask someone if they know anyone you can speak to about S&T.

Should I just rule them out? Dude suck it up and start networking. To rule them out is just silly, it maybe a little more challenging, but nothing is easy in life. Go for the FO role for sure, I have heard from personal contacts trying to move from MO/BO to FO is extremely difficult because everyone else in the organization is trying to do the same thing. If you can get FO at one of the lesser banks just lateral a few years down the way if that is what you want to do. Just my 2 cents
