Opening closed doors
Hello everyone, long time reader and just registered member on here. I presently attend a non-target university and have recently been accepted into the Analyst Exchange program. Since recruiters from financial industry are limited on my campus and most of the university courses are corporate focused, I thought gaining experience through an internship through analyst exchange would be a good first step forward. I am presently a junior and have not had previous finance related experience on my resume. I would have liked to get an internship earlier during my school years however, only recently have I started putting effort in school. The first semester I was on probation and the last semester I was Summa Cum-laude. So that kind of gives you guys a little background info on me. In conclusion, I would like to ask everyone on here, if I am on the correct process to enhancing my candidacy for entering IB or if I should be taking advantage of other summer opportunities I am not aware of. Any criticism will be well received. I know this topics like these have been discussed over and over but I am just looking for additional advice if possible. Also please take into account that there are no financial constraints for me in regards to studying or taking part in programs or internship opportunities in U.S and abroad. My parents are very supportive in terms of economic support.
I have also enjoyed posts and responses by many members on here...especially Edmundo Braverman, illiniprogrammer, misind. Theking etc. Those are just a few names that pop up to my mind immediately.
Also where should I stay in New York for the analyst exchange program and would anyone like to room for two months over the summer?
