Parter/Upper Echelon Compensation
Just a question regarding pay at the upper levels of Consultancies. While I'm sure most of the pay is performance based what is an average partner at M/B/B bringing in?

Comp at the partner level is actually the least tied to performance, since its all about selling cases / projects. Partner pay is tied to overall office utilization rates, but in recent years partner comp at M/B/B has been in the $1.5-2.5 MM range, though a heavy hitting senior partner can pull down multiples of this comp level by selling into a few really large clients.
Unlikely you're at $1.5MM as a junior partner/principal. If you're a senior partner, maybe, but unlikely at the more junior levels. The revenue per consultant just isn't high enough to justify that level of comp for too many people.
so how much does a princial at McK make? what about engagement manager?
