Parthenon Capital Partners - new Analyst program, reputation, lifestyle?
Was wondering if anyone had any in-depth information about Parthenon Capital Partners. They recently posted that they're recruiting Analysts right out of undergrad, for summer 2017 start, on my school's (target) job board. This is apparently the first time they're doing an Analyst class, probably following the PE trend in recent years. I find this timing somewhat odd because most seniors with the qualifications to be a PE analyst have already started BB/EB banking jobs, or something similar.
They seem like a very respectable MM shop, with 20 years of existence and ~$3Bn AUM. Started by the founder of Parthenon consulting (now part of EY) and current Managing Partners include one of the founding partners of GTCR and guys formerly at Bain & Co, Audax, and Apollo. Other than that, haven't been able to find much by scouring the internet.
Would be super interested if anyone has any more info on these guys, both regarding their reputation, returns, lifestyle, pay, or their new Analyst program (highly unlikely, I know). Feel free to PM me as well.

It is a well regarded MM firm. "Top quartile" returns. No idea about the analyst program, but the associate program is on the demanding side, but known to produce good investors. 2 of the current partners are x-associates and they have a bunch of alumni who are partners at large-cap firms.
That is definitely interesting - do you know this information from knowing people there, doing deals with them in the past, etc? Also wondering if you could narrow down which "large-cap firms" the ex-associates have gone to. Feel free to PM me
I work for a competitor. know people over there.
They posted on my career job board too. Honestly, if you go to my school or a similar-level school, you're better off doing MBB or BB IB for two years and then transition to business school or PE directly. It's somewhat risky to go to a smaller PE firm with a nonexistent track record of getting people into Stanford or HBS.
Also, the one review on Glassdoor is somewhat negative.
Im sure their associates have a decent B-school track record.
I'd be more worried about a brand new analyst program rather quality of the broader firm. PE firms aren't set up to train analysts as well as IBs, especially a brand new program. You might end up getting a great experience, but you very likely could not. If you can get into a top IB, I'd go with that route because you know what you're getting yourself into and have more options for exit opps (in case you don't want to do PE).
Top-notch firm in the MM space. Associates work hard, but have good B-School placement.
Has anyone interviewed with this group for their analyst program yet?
I'm in the middle of interviewing with them.
Result? Opinion of the firm?

Bumping this. Anyone have any 2019 thoughts on their analyst program?
