PE Accounting vs. Wealth Management finance
I have two choices in front of me that i desperately need help with.
1. PE accounting function within a big bank. Big banks are winding down PE positions, so i may only last one year in this PE accounting role, and then need to find a job then. I'm thinking maybe an accounting function in structured fund or any kind of alternative investment. I have CPA, need to get the one year experience working under CPA, which this job satisfies that requirement. I am also very interested in learning the accounting functions around PE.
- finance analyst in wealth management area. This seems more stable than the PE accounting, but i won't get one year experience under a CPA, and will need to get that check off some other way.
Questions: how difficult is it to find a PE accounting job with only one year of experience (if i leave the current bank) or for those of your in banking industry, how easy is it to find a accounting function job in alternative investment area. how much does it pay? from what i searched, it's pretty low. When will it get better? how does the career path look like in this area?
finance analyst within wealth management area, looking ahead what's the upside, and what kind of career path would that lead me? how much does it pay?
Appreciate your help!
