PE Intern
I am a summer intern at a Apollo, however, I go to a non-target school. With that said I am curious to know if a brand name internship helps during FT?

Never heard of Apollo... In all seriousness, how did you get an internship at Apollo during undergrad?
I saw a posting for Apollo at career service a couple years ago, but I was not eligible due to class year.
By "summer intern" you mean you attend one of Apollo Education Group's online colleges right?
Apollo does have internship opportunities for undergrad. For some schools, it has a sophomore internship program and many target schools send junior SAs to Apollo.
As for non-target schools, I am sure that OP worked hard to secure an offer from Apollo.
It is an internship in their distressed debt division not a leadership program. I worked REALLY hard to get this internship it was about a 7 month interview process (multiple phone interviews and 2 in house interviews with a panel). In regards to how I got it, well let's just say I exhausted every oppurtunity on LinkedIn and it involved referral upon referral until one day I got a shot with a partner and got my 5 minutes to give him my story. The rest is history.
OP, are you saying you don't think you'll get a FT offer or if you did that you wouldn't accept it?
Of course I would accept the offer, however, I do not want to put all my eggs in one basket. Do not get me wrong I am going to work my tail off over the summer, but I have also heard from other people they do not extend FT offers to SA's for their distressed debt division. With that said I want to know if having a "brand name" on my resume will give me a leg up during FT recruiting?
Dude of course a name brand coveted position helps you land interviews. The reason no one is answering the original question is probably because no one understands how you can land such a great opportunity but ask such a retarded question
Hats off to you for your cheekiness...You are probably right and I am just overthinking it, but was curious to see about someone else's experience(s).
yep - heard Apollo only hires 1-2 Wharton interns/year for front-office PE. OP look up the other threads on WSO, there's already plenty of info out there
