What exactly is the position you are interviewing for? It is a specific asset class team or are you going to be a generalist?

I had a brief experience in investment consulting and the types of things you do in investment consulting are very similar to what you do at a smaller and mid-size pension funds. It mostly focuses around manager due diligence, researching new asset classes to add to the portfolio, and deciding on strategic moves to the fund’s asset allocation.

I'd focus on having some ideas on what asset classes you would recommend right now in light of the economy and markets. So have a very good idea of what is going on in the markets and be able to talk intelligently about it .

You pretty much nailed the job description on the head. Its a fund analyst position and definitely see it as a generalist position. Any good respurces you would use to get up to speed just before the interview?

Thanks for your input.
