Petsky prunier - Chop shop?
Did a search, found some old posts saying Petsky Prunier is a chop shop, but others saying maybe the firm has become more legit.
Can anybody familiar with the firm clear things up and give some info on how they are performing/viewed now?
No idea. It was the first bank I ever interviewed for. Needless to say, I didnt get past the phone interview, lol.
haha...anybody else?
these guys sound really familiar but i cant remember why...good or bad.
I can confirm that they are indeed legit. My buddy works there, and they are pretty much killing it. Think about it. They are a bank focused on digital advertising. Can you think of any hotter sector right now? Definitely legit spot to be in right now.
They had an analyst opening two months back or so. Applied via OneWire and never heard anything back. Called the # on the website and got some bitchy secretary. Can't really say much more then that.
Reading comprehension shall we? Bitchy is an adjective describing the behavior of someone. Not the same thing as calling someone a bitch. But thank you for resurrecting a 4 month old thread to state your opinion, I will go back to living my life now.

Petsky Prunier - How do they rank? (Originally Posted: 08/17/2012)
Heard Petsky Prunier is a chop shop and just wanted perspective from someone that interviewed with them or has experience. Interested in the culture and dealflow. How does it rank against other boutique TMT banks such as Luma Partners?
Also, a list of boutique TMT investment banks in the Northeast would be appreciated. Thanks.

LUMA Partners has a far better brand. Does bigger deals and more of them.

Please does anybody know anything about this shop? Any information would be appreciated. Comp, exit ops etc for assoc level.
Thanks.
Thought you were a troll until I googled the name...how is that a real firm.
they are small but solid digital media boutique
There used to be an old running joke on WSO that they were a chop shop...so they weren't seen as very legit (by the people on here at least, not always reflective of more seasoned professionals.) Recently, I joked about them on here and I got flamed hard for it, so I don't know if that means they are actually more legit now or if somebody just had a personal reason to defend them.
That's just about all I know about them, but I know the job posting you're referring to, because I saw them advertise on a job board somewhere recently and I was like "wow, they're still around?" Who knows, maybe they're killing it now...I don't really know anything tangible about them.

Hey Everyone,
Just saw a post of this company on a job site and was wondering if anyone is familiar with them? Used the search function but nothing was too helpful. Nothing in the company database either. They seem to churn out sell-sides like crazy so any information on pay, culture, exit opps would be great, thanks!
someone spill the beans - here is a user that actually USED search AND the Company Database. Don't have anything specific on Petsky, just wanted to say thank you for actually using the tools available.
Assume you saw this thread and the related ones in the block below...:

don't have personal experience there, but worked with them while in corp dev (they were the advisor to the company we were looking to acquire). small boutique with decent reputation in TMT (e-commerce / retail-related tech in particular). from what I heard with the team I worked with, deal flow is pretty good (mostly middle market), structure/culture is pretty standard boutique. leadership has pretty good track record (again, in the middle market space)

I just met some dude from a firm called Petsky Prunier...what a jackass, I wonder what it must be like to work there...
Does anyone else know any names of any other investment banks in which working there is likely to give a higher degree of diss than a checkout dude at WalMart?
Yeah, that place is a chop shop and is a complete joke. Was the person you met an associate, analyst, etc...? I'd like for you to put more color around the situaiton, if possible. A
Two places that have a high "diss" levels on the west coast are Rutberg and company and the shemano group. who the fuck does venture capital raises?!

Pretty active in the digital media space. Thoughts on their deal flow, reputation, exit opps, and pay?
Did a search, but nothing new showed up. Would appreciate any insight from those who have had any experience with the firm.
Thanks.

Overall a great firm with some strong positive momentum.
Petsky Prunier - Any experiences? (Originally Posted: 04/06/2013)
Does anybody know anything about this firm or know anybody who currently works / has worked there? From their website it looks like they have good deal flow with transaction sizes ranging from low MM - ~$500MM. I'm wondering what kind of exit opportunities might be available from a tech/digital media oriented MM M&A advisory firm that has good contacts in the MM PE and VC world. My sense is that analysts here get a good experience in getting acquainted with the M&A sale process but may have limited analytical and modelling experience due to nature of the sizes of their transactions. Any thoughts? And if people could please refrain from the old "chop shop" jokes unless there's some substance behind it... thanks!
So I applied to this firm for a summer internship for 2013 summer. I was wondering if you did the same.
No, I did not. Did you get a chance to talk to anyone at the firm during the recruiting process? Feel free to PM me if you don't feel comfortable sharing publicly, thanks.
Someone at the firm told me to wait to hear back until 8th April. If I do not hear back, I should give them a call.
ever heard back from them?
