PIMCO summer intern

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knew anything about PIMCO's FUND STATISTICS summer internship. Is that like an operations position? back office? any info would be greatly appreciated !! Thanks !!

Edit: here's the description !

Responsibilities
• Produce regular and ad hoc mutual fund performance and statistics reports
• Respond to recurring and ad hoc requests for information from internal and external parties
• Maintain and update intranet and Internet document postings
• Provide data feeds to and monitor external data service providers, including Morningstar,
Lipper, S&P, and Reuters
• Comply with legal and procedural guidelines
• Assist with requests for proposals (RFPs)

can anyone maybe explain more about this ?? Thank you !!

Is anyone familiar with the chances of going BO to FO at PIMCO? If you have been offered the position, OP, congrats, don't let the IB monkeys play down PIMCO, the prestige, Newport Beach, etc.

Know about duration and convexity. They really care about that (for obvious reasons). You will undoubtedly be asked what it means and how they are used to generate alpha. Usually very few behavioral questions, they like to keep it informational, you may have to take a test in excel, but that would come later.

thanks for all the insights.. anyone know what kind of questions I should be expecting? as an undergrad? any tips on what i should prepare myself for? I generally get the idea of the position, but anyone know anything more specific? Kind of hard to do research on it ! and lastly, would anyone choose this over a M&A summer intern at a boutique firm? THANKS !

is that a joke? this is fucking PIMCO, the motherfucking illest asset management firm there is. how often do you hear of a firm with 1 trillion AUM that has 1200 employees? not to mention your boutique is most likely in NYC or would optimally lead you to NYC when instead you could be in NEWPORT BEACH
