Piper Jaffray SA
Has anyone on WSO been an SA at Piper? If so, what was it like? Similar to a BB experience? What were the hours like? If you don't screw up badly, is there a good possibility of getting extended a FT offer? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

My understanding is that Piper tends to only offer FT positions to very strong summers (sometimes less than 25% of interns), but they tend to give a lot responsibility to the junior staff and face time is minimal. This comes from a friend that works in the San Francisco office.

I had heard quite the contrary from two guys that work in the MN office - ie. you need to screw up to not get the offer!
SF and Minneapolis offices
SF and Minneapolis offices are a lot different. Piper only has ~5 SA's in Minneapolis. If you don't suck, you'll get a FT offer. Word is they are cutting back on the SA program since 2 former SA's got FT offers and then walked out the door within a month.

I know this may be a little off topic, but can anyone comment on IB in Minneapolis as far as types of deals (as in Texas = energy), lifestyle, etc?
